Management Today – Spot Illustrations

These illustrations, for Management today, go along with a couple of short articles. The one above goes along with a column about the latest trite business jargon phrase “learnings.” Apparently, people are using this word in place of the word “mistakes,” because mistakes aren’t mistakes anymore but are an opportunity to learn. While I agree with this sentiment somewhat, it seems like a silly use of language and the word wizard who writes this column agrees. Though, apparently Shakespeare was known to use the word “learnings” more than once, so one is left to wonder if the Bard himself has come back to life and has found work writing business catchphrases.

This illustration goes along with an article about how large businesses have started to search for the best new ideas and processes from new and inventive places – including looking at how much smaller business tackle their problems.
